Episode 25 - Father’s Day

Episode 25 - Father’s Day

June 28, 2021

This year, I had a pretty quiet Father's Day.  But at the same time, it was one of the best one I had.  Being a parent is not easy, but sometimes, you need that little boost to make you feel better.

That is what I'll be sharing with you this week...  And I hope it makes you think and inspire you a little bit...  All I can say is hang in there, you're doing a great job! :)

Episode 24 - He said, she S.A.I.D. - Interview with Bruce Mclaughlin

Episode 24 - He said, she S.A.I.D. - Interview with Bruce Mclaughlin

May 9, 2021

This week, I have the pleasure of having Bruce Mclaughlin, author of the book He said, She S.A.I.D., and then he went to jail.  We talk about his incredible story, his book, and also talk about what divorce and custody battle can do to a family.

Part memoir, part thriller, and part horror story, He Said, She S.A.I.D., retells the story of one man’s arrest, trial, conviction, escape attempt, and 4-year incarceration before he was able to prove his innocence and finally win his freedom. His story is particularly relevant reading amid the #MeToo movement. It also shines a light on aspects of Virginia’s criminal justice system that require immediate reform. Having experienced the fate of criminals consigned to the Commonwealth’s penal system, Bruce has dedicated the next stage of his career to educating the public on what parts of the system need to be changed, sharing his perspective as both a felon and an attorney, and advocating for those changes in the halls of justice.

You can find Bruce's book on Amazon, Apple Books, or on its website at www.hesaidshesaidbook.com

Episode 23 - Marriage Counselling & Therapy

Episode 23 - Marriage Counselling & Therapy

April 13, 2021

This week, I talked about Marriage Counselling and Therapy.  Should we go through it, and is it really worth it?  Could it save my marriage (and avoid a divorce)? Or is it just a wishful thinking?

I've asked around and got some really interesting feedback on all this...  And what about you, what do you think? :)

Episode 21 - You have the right to remain silent

Episode 20 - Relapse

Episode 20 - Relapse

January 31, 2021

This week, I talk about relapse.  Everything might look better, go better, all seemed aligned, but there's always a risk for a relapse.  How can you deal with it and get back on your feet?

Episode 19 - Dads just want to have fun

Episode 19 - Dads just want to have fun

January 7, 2021

Let's try to settle this once and for all...  Is that true that Dads just want to have fun? :)

In this episode, I decided to talk about the myth or reality that dads just want to have fun.  We're never serious, or never the serious parent in a relationship.  Is that true?  And how so?  Can we also be a strict that nowadays?  Why not both?

Feel free to share your thoughts on this!

Episode 18 - A Very Merry Divorced Christmas

Episode 18 - A Very Merry Divorced Christmas

December 14, 2020

It is this time of year!  Holidays are almost here, and as much as it was never easy to plan when married, with family and friends, it can be even more challenging when you're divorced.

We talk about planning, which is key to successful holidays, our first Christmas alone, and also out with the old and in with the new traditions with the kids!

It's not something easy, but we can make it fun and start something new all together!

I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Please stay safe and looking forward to have you back with me in the new year!

Episode 17 - Interview with Tracy Poizner from Essential Stepmom

Episode 17 - Interview with Tracy Poizner from Essential Stepmom

November 29, 2020

This week, I had the pleasure to meet with Tracy Poizner from The Essential Stepmom.

In addition to her group for stepmoms, Tracy hosts a Facebook community for divorced dads called "One for the Dads" to create a safe, private space on social media for asking questions and sharing challenges.

She recently asked the group what they were having the most trouble with in their parenting and they said they wanted to know "How do you stick to your guns and hold limits with your kids, without feeling like a bad guy".

So, she created a 3-day Facebook Challenge called the "Stick to your Guns Parenting Bootcamp for Divorced Dads - and other Nice Guys". The bootcamp ran a few weeks ago, but she's offered my listeners to access the replay.

You can sign up for that by going to bit.ly/dadpower and she'll send you the videos.

You can also join Tracy and other dads on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/groups/oneforthedads

Also, you also read more about Tracy on the website: http://www.EssentialStepMom.com

And also can listen to her podcast Essential Stepmom, which I had the pleasure of being on a little while back :)
